Making your first moves in Jigsaw Sudoku

Open Jigsaw Sudoku, check the instructions and begin a round. Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Use the example below to understand a decision. Read the objective before making your first input. Choose a clear next step rather than rushing through the instructions.

This collection contains 6 puzzles. Progress is saved in this browser. The same puzzle can appear again; the collection is not labelled with calibrated difficulty levels.

An idea for your next attempt

Choose one rule to keep in mind for this round. Apply it consistently rather than guessing what another version might allow. Refer to the controls when needed.

Your objective

Fill each row, column and irregular coloured nine-cell region with 1–9 once. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Try to explain the aim in your own words.

Follow these playing steps

  1. Select an editable cell.
  2. Enter a value using the keypad or keyboard; Notes stores candidates.
  3. Read the region, cage, arrow or outside clues alongside the normal constraints.
  4. Check entries verifies the completed board; Undo reverses your last input.
  5. New puzzle selects another included puzzle.

Input guidance

Click or tap cells and the digit pad. Use Notes, Undo and Reveal selected. Large boards scroll inside the game. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

Try this example

The coloured region, not a conventional 3×3 box, defines the third no-repeat constraint. Your next round may have a different position, so inspect it before acting. Read the matching step again.

One detail worth checking

A full board must obey every extra rule. Reveal supplies assistance; it is not an earned deduction. A different version of the game may use a different rule. After a move, check what changed. Decide which rule explains the new state before acting again.
