Twelve puzzles with addition, multiplication, subtraction and singleton cages.

A small practice goal

Compare the worked example with your own position. Use the reasoning, not an answer copied from a different board. Keep the objective visible.

Your goal

Fill a 4×4 Latin square and satisfy every cage arithmetic target. Use the instructions to see which actions move you towards it. Start with a deliberate move.

The playing sequence

  1. Select a square and enter 1–4.
  2. Combine all cage digits using its shown operation.
  3. Subtraction uses the absolute difference.
  4. Check puzzle verifies the entire grid.

The controls to know

Click or tap squares or graph edges. Number boards include a digit pad. Undo reverses the previous change; Check puzzle validates the solution. Read a button’s label before selecting it. Use one clear input at a time.

One way to understand the rules

A two-cell 6× cage contains 2 and 3 in a 1–4 puzzle. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Read the matching step again.

Where a round can go wrong

A correct cage total does not permit duplicate digits in a row. Take a moment to reassess the position before continuing. Keep the stated aim separate from side details such as animation or appearance. Progress is measured by the game’s own completion or scoring rules.
