Read before your next round of Ludo

Try Ludo at your own pace and keep its objective in view. Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls. Make your first input carefully and watch the result. Keep the game area visible while you use its controls.

Play with two or four people on the same device. Follow the house rules shown on the board; internet matchmaking is not available.

Something to practise

Read one step at a time and try it on the playing area. Match the instruction to the control you use. Refer to the controls when needed.

What counts as success

Bring all four tokens home before the other players. Keep that objective in view throughout the round. Notice how the game responds to your input.

Work through the instructions

  1. Roll six to leave the yard.
  2. Move an eligible token by the die value; home requires an exact roll.
  3. Capture opponents on non-safe squares.
  4. Six, capture and finishing a token grant another roll; a third consecutive six forfeits that roll.

How your actions work

Click or tap a piece and destination; use the turn indicator and legal-move feedback. On a smaller screen, keep the active part of the board within view. A new-round button replaces the current round.

An example to follow

A token two steps from home cannot use a three. Compare this with the rule that governs the move. Keep the game’s format in mind.

One detail worth checking

Safe squares cannot capture; blockades are not part of this edition. Compare the situation with the worked example. Before your first action, say what you are trying to achieve. Then compare the result with the goal.
